Lurky Skunk is a queer folk punk / anti-folk band based out of Asheville, NC. In 2021, Salix and Kate hit the Appalachian Trail with a mandolin and a tiny guitar and played early skunk songs to through-hikers camped out at shelters. They have since added Lisa on claw-hammer banjo, and Brennan on drums, and have played extensively in Asheville and in the NC triangle region.  

Lurky Skunk’s debut full length album I Broke All The Mirrors was released in 2022. The album showcased their characteristic high-energy, tongue-twister songs, with a knack to knock the audience right in their feelings. From slow harmony-filled ballads, to ripping pulse-quickening bangers, the Skunks take their fans on a rollercoaster of a journey with each new set. 

The Skunks just released their second full band album Lurky Skunk Loves You, in November 2024. The album is appropriately named, as the authentic and shining love between the best friends in this project has made them a favorite among venue bookers and devoted fans. The album features 8 brand new songs, as well as an accompanying string section.
